A Trek To Lamadug~~ Manali

If you are looking for a short trek and want to see snow in an odd season( my travel to Manali was in the month of April 2017), then a trek to Lamadug is the best option for you, in Manali. Short and crisp, Lamadug Trek is a popular full day trek option in Manali. The trek started from our hotel(Hotel Delfryn) and is a four to five hours journey through thick Deodar forests and with a few stream crossings. The journey is mostly uphill but does include some long flat stretches to allow you to catch your breath.

COOLING OFF IN THE STREAM
Two hours into the walk; the cool pure water a balm for my tired feet.

THE FIRST GLIMPSE OF SNOW
The main purpose of choosing Lamadug for the trek is to find snow. And finally, after 2 hours of walking, the first glimpse of snow gave me gigantic joy.

LUNCH SCENES

One stops over for lunch en route on a lovely rocky ledge offering a beautiful view of Manali and its surrounding peaks.

THE SNOWCAPPED MOUNTAINS

One reaches Lamadug within an hour and a half after lunch. Lamadug is a lovely meadow ringed by Maple, Spruce, and Oak.

After spending a relaxing time here one walks back down the same path to Manali. In my case, we took a short cut, which was much more perpendicular and narrow.
