With stunning views, traditional food and ancient heritage architecture, The Himalayan Village is an enthralling resort to visit.
The Himalayan village is a glorious mix of style, luxury and traditional architecture blending in harmony. An ideal place to rejuvenate your mind, body and soul. Sit under Deodar trees in the morning hours with sun rays breaking through and feel at peace with nature. The village is situated at the foothills of the famous Malana village, the oldest democracy in the world and just 10km short of Manikaran, famous for its hot water springs, right on the bank of the sacred Parvati river in the bowl of the lesser known Parvati valley.
Made in pure traditional and ancient kathkunia style (dry stacking of stone and wood without cement) with mud plastered walls from inside blending perfectly with the Deodar wood work. The cottages have a build in area of 600-700sqft with mini bar, mini fridges, study, separate dressings, fully furnished and equipped toilets and personal lawns.
The village has thick Deodar(Pine) forest as the crown, river Parvati wetting its feet, mountains made of black hard-rock, with as many features as one’s mind can think of protruding as Lingas in different shapes and sizes. Snow covered peaks making a perfect backdrop for this Shiv Nagri.
The village is a perfect place for nature lovers. The valley offers some real good treks, mystic mountains gorges, deodar forests, Himalayan fauna and crystal clear waterfalls.
I completely loved my 1 day stay at this beautiful resort. After my late afternoon check-in, in the hotel, i relaxed in my cottage for a while.
Then i went down to the restaurant for dinner, where i had delicious traditional Himachal food.
My next day started with a nature walk organized by the hotel people, which is a 2 hours walk through mountains and nature accompanied by the hotel guide.
Passing by charming nature views and musical nature sound
precariously perched, and often isolated on hill slopes far from the nearest road.
Cooling off in the Parvati river
after two hours into the walk; the cool pure water a balm for my tired feet.
After the relaxing walk, there was lip-smacking breakfast organized in the Sanjha Chullah restaurant of the resort.
After breakfast there was some exciting activities waiting.
After a fruitful stay it was time to bid bye to this beautiful resort and this beautiful village. Special thanks to the complete staff members for their wonderful service and Mr. Sood, the owner of this resort, for being such an awesome host. I will always cherish the moments, i lived here. Things turn out best for people who make the best of the way things turn out.
